"Call for Presentations" for the Automotive Symposium running parallel to "electronicIndia 2008"
The electronicIndia trade fair to be held from 2nd to 5th September 2008 in Bangalore, India, is not only the leading trade fair for the electronics industry in India but is also an important forum for expert professionals in this high-tech sector. This means automotive electronics specialists will meet on 3rd September at the "The Trends and Future Requirements in Automotive Electronics" symposium that will run alongside the electronicIndia 2008 trade fair in the BIEC Bangalore International Exhibition Center. Automotive electronics experts will have the unique opportunity of presenting their point of view to selected professionals on this national platform for the electronics sector. The deadline for submitting presentation abstracts is 30th April 2008.

The automobile sector is one of the major growth motors of the Indian economy. According to a study conducted by the India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF), passenger vehicle turnover is expected to increase from the current annual figure of 1.3 million to 2.7 million vehicles by 2015. The range of vehicles on offer is increasingly being geared to the low-income group of buyers: The Indian manufacturer Tata Motors is currently in the process of launching a compact car that costs less than 2,000 Euros, while the major German automobile manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen/Skoda, who are represented in the market with their own production facilities, are concentrating on the growing upper classes. Those who stand to gain the most from the booming Indian automobile market, however, are the motor vehicle suppliers: The Automotive Component Manufacturers' Association of India estimates that the sector turnover from the current 15 billion US dollars will experience an average annual growth rate of 13 percent to 40 billion US dollars up to 2014/15.

Those expert speakers who are interested can immediately apply for a speaker slot on one of the following subjects with an abstract in English:
The abstract in Word or PDF format should outline the subject to be presented in no more than 250 words and include the title of the talk, 3 - 5 keywords for classifying the topic as well as the name of the speaker and his company. Furthermore, the supplied material should include all relevant contact data such as e-mail address as well as telephone and fax number. The complete abstract must be submitted under the email addressinfo@electronicindia.netby 30th April 2008 at the latest. A decision with regard to the acceptance of a talk will be made by the end of May 2008 by a symposium committee consisting of company delegates from ST Microelectronics, Tata Motors, Epcos AG, NXP, Robert Bosch India, Tyco Electronics and Infineon Technologies.

Please direct any questions concerning the electronicIndia 2008 trade fair to Manmeet Sabarwal, Company Manager of MMI India (telephone: +91 9820101284, e-mail:manmeet.sabarwal@mmi-india.in). Further information on the trade fair is available on the Internet under www.electronicindia.net.
