The U2 subway runs from 5:30 to 24:00. It goes straight to the New Munich Trade Fair Centre / ICM ("Messestadt West" and "Messestadt Ost" stations.)

During peak periods, the U2 runs at
at 5-minute intervals:
07.00 - 09.40 (from Hauptbahnhof)
14.45 - 19.05 (from Messestadt West)

Tickets for public transportation can be purchased from ticket machines and at ticket counters at subway station.

There are single and multiple-ride tickets. The fare depends on the number of zones you travel in. Within the city limits, which includes trips to the New Munich Trade Fair Centre, you have to cancel 2 stripes on the multiple-ride ticket at the machines provided.

MVV trade fair ticket

In most instances you will receive an MVV trade-fair ticket with your admission ticket to events in Munich that are hosted by Munich International Trade Fairs. Please note information on the entrance ticket. It entitles you to use public transportation in the entire area served by the MVV (Munich Transit Authority) to travel to and from the trade fair center free of charge. It is only valid together with a valid admission ticket issued by Munich International Trade Fairs. 

Visitors who have a guest ticket or advance-sale ticket may use it to travel to their event free of charge.

Exhibitor passes for events hosted by Munich International Trade Fairs include the free MVV trade-fair ticket, which is valid from the day befor to the day after the event.
