Fast assembly, mechanical stability and simple handling
At Electronica 2008, Rittal will be unveiling Ripac EASY, a new subrack
system for standard applications, whose pre-mounted screws permit
dramatic shortening of the time required for assembly. The system
promises simple handling, and can also be chosen where tougher
operating conditions are to be expected.
Standardisation in the field of subracks continues to progress in leaps and bounds. But that is not really surprising, because standardised systems can be developed and launched much faster. At Electronica 2008, Rittal will now be presenting its new Ripac EASY system for standard applications, answering demands for a product uniting simple handling and fast assembly with a high level of user benefits. The subracks can at the same time also be used in situations where high demands are placed on mechanical stability.
Ripac EASY has been designed to comply with the specifications of IEC 60 297-3. It is available in standard heights of 3 and 6 U, and in the depths 175, 235, 295, 355 and 415 mm. The aluminium side panels with separate flanges are provided with assembly holes in a 60 mm grid pattern - accommodating all the common card formats. To achieve the maximum possible stability, the horizontal rails can be fastened with two screws, if necessary.
As the rails are already supplied with pre-configured screws, the time required for assembly is shortened dramatically. Similar attention has been paid to simple assembly of the cover plates. They are merely inserted into the rails and clipped into place.
Ripac EASY is designed for the installation of backplanes, or optionally for connectors. The user also retains the choice of either telescopic slides or slide rails for the installations. The range of accessories includes cover plates with or without vent holes, and it is furthermore possible to incorporate the whole range of accessory parts and components from the existing Ripac subrack programme.
A configuration tool ensures maximum convenience when selecting and ordering the required components. CAD data have been prepared for downloading and are also provided as 3D models in RiCAD 3D.
