The KBF series climatic chambers for constant conditions from Binder
offer cutting-edge technology and a number of features for more
comfortable working conditions. An innovative high-pressure
humidification system now operates with either tap water or
demineralized water. Temperature and humidity controls have also been
further refined. All KBF series climatic chambers for constant
conditions meet the requirements of ICH Q1A guidelines. With its
space-saving single-door housing, the unit has the same usable space in
a smaller footprint. The optional light module also fulfills the light
testing requirements of ICH Q1 B guidelines. The LQC Light Quantum
Control component is a useful energy-saving feature, since the light
sources are switched off as soon as the required value is reached.

High-pressure humidification, large-area refrigeration, and controlled
temperature distribution are all special features of this new
generation of KBF series climatic chambers for constant conditions.
They represent BINDER's premium class of products, helping to maintain
the company's leading position in this area. The KBF from BINDER also
has a new humidification system on the outside of the inner chamber.
Here superheated steam is injected under high pressure through valves,
allowing it to dissipate more evenly, faster, and with fewer germs than
is possible with standard systems assisted by an extra air turbine. The
notorious fogging effect has thus become a thing of the past. Another
advantage is the fact that virtually any quality of water can be used.
The KBF will operate perfectly with either demineralized water or tap
water up to 8.0 hardness [German hardness]. Water with higher hardness
can be easily treated with the BINDER Pure Aqua System.
Humidity is controlled using a large-surface evaporator backplate. In
this new generation series, the temperature control equipment is also
located along the back wall of the interior chamber around the fans,
making it easier to control the required humidity and temperature
values with greater speed and precision. This design keeps the side
walls completely free, making it easier to modify the unit for access
ports or add any other user-specific options.
Now also suitable for light testing pursuant to ICH Q1 B guidelines
KBF series chambers for constant climatic conditions can also be
supplied with an optional light module for daylight and UV light,
suitable for various mounting alternatives along the top. As a result,
in addition to the standard applications, the KBF series units are also
recommended for light testing in accordance with ICH Q1 B guidelines.
The patented Light Quantum Control (LQC) system also makes it possible
to measure and accumulate the amount of light with spherical sensors.
As soon as the specific required value is achieved, the light source is
automatically switched off, which saves energy.
In addition to its technological improvements, the KBF series housing
was also redesigned to satisfy modern requirements. The new upright
design chamber is narrower and higher, thus improving its usable
space-to-footprint ratio for laboratory equipment. The new single-door
design also provides easier access to specimens.
The KBF series climatic chambers for constant conditions covers a
temperature range from -10 °C to 100 °C (without humidity), or
from 10 °C to 90 °C at 10% to 90% relative humidity. A recently
introduced version of the KBF series units offers a usable space of 240
L, suitable for a 200 – 240 V, 50/60 Hz power supply. Other
versions will be available soon.
