New miniaturized 5320 coupling chip antenna for micro communication product applications
Yageo announced the release of the industry's smallest 5320 Coupling
Chip Antenna featuring low sensitivity to environment interference as
well as less stray capacitance. Measuring only 5.3x2.0x1.2mm, the 5320
Coupling Chip Antenna comes with special feed design inductive to
higher radiation efficiency rendering it particularly suitable for
micro communication products that are sensitive to environmental
interference. Samples of the 5320 Coupling Chip Antenna are available
to customers with mass production scheduled for October of this year.
Suited to meet the needs of micro portable devices including Bluetooth headsets, smart phones, etc., Yageo's 5320 Coupling Chip Antenna requires barely 3 to 5mm in clearance on motherboards. In addition to its feed design which effectively reduce product testing lead time by less stray capacitance and minimizing the consideration of environmental interference, Yageo's 5320 Coupling Chip Antenna supports bandwidths of 2.4 to 2.484GHz, Bluetooth and IEEE 802.11bgn applications, with an average gain of -5.6dBi, 50? impedance and a maximum power of 1W.
Mr. Tony Chang, President of Yageo Global Sales Business Group, said "Propelled by increasingly integrated wireless functions in portable products, the number of antennas in a single device can easily exceed seven and as consumers carry these devices on them all the time, it is important to have antenna that are relatively free from environmental interference such as human body effects, device grounding and noise effects. Our 5320 Coupling Chip Antenna features superior reception quality and stands to satisfy customers' requirement for minimal space and maximum radiation performance."
According to ABI Research data in 2008, 49.1% of global cell phones come with Bluetooth functions. Shipment of smart phones has also been on the surge year on year and is expected to reach 31% by 2013. As a result, demand for 2.4GHz antenna in smart phone and Bluetooth mobile phone markets will also rise substantially.
