- Shanghai IT & Electronics Fair (SIEF) with four
individual trade fairs now the largest electronics trade fair in all of
China
- Sponsorship lies with Shanghai Municipal Informatization Commission and Shanghai Pudong New Area People’s Government
- Trade fairs further strengthened through support from government organizations
The events electronica & Productronica China and LASER. World of
Photonics China are being held from March 18 to 20, 2008 under the
umbrella of the ‘Shanghai IT & Electronics Fair’ (SIEF)
for the first time. The SIEF is bringing together a total of four trade
fairs on the premises of the Shanghai International Expo Center in
Shanghai: In addition to the electronica & Productronica China and
LASER World of Photonics China of Munich Trade Fairs, the International
Electronic Circuits Exhibition (CPCA Show) and Semicon China are also
part of the network. The SIEF is thus by far the largest event for the
electronics industry in China. It will occupy a total of 11 halls,
covering 10,000 square meters each. The four individual events were
already held simultaneously in 2007. 2,077 exhibitors presented their
innovations there and welcomed some 86,000 visitors.
The sponsors of the SIEF are two official departments of the Shanghai
city government: the Shanghai Municipal Informatization Commission and
Shanghai Pudong New Area People’s Government. Discussions
about official support from the central government in Peking are
currently being held.
Klaus Dittrich, the Managing Director of Munich International Trade
Fairs, is very satisfied with the development: “We have achieved
the breakthrough on the Chinese market with this completely new
cooperation model . The electronica & Productronica China and
LASER. World of Photonics China, which have been organized by Munich
International Trade Fairs in Shanghai since 2002 and 2006 respectively,
are thus part of the largest electronics trade fair in China. This
offers us a superb environment to substantially accelerate the growth
rate of the last few years.
electronica & Productronica China and LASER. World of Photonics Chinaelectronica & Productronica China 2007 brought together a total of
375 exhibitors from 20 countries. This corresponds to a plus of 13 per
cent compared to the previous year’s event. The three-day event
attracted some 23,500 visitors – 24 per cent more than 2006
– who came to inform themselves about the latest electronics
products and technologies.
The event LASER. World of Photonics China 2007 once again confirmed its
recognized function as the meeting place for leading manufacturers of
the laser and photonics industry with more than 9,000 visitors. The
trade fair was attended by globally leading manufacturers such as
Trumpf, ROFIN-BAASEL, Newport, Coherent, GSI Group, Han's Laser,
Chutian and Huagong. The exhibition space increased by 21 per cent in
comparison to the last event and the space occupied by Chinese
exhibitors grew even by 43 per cent.
