Exhibitors Give Top Grades to electronicAmericas 2007
|
|
|
|
- Success in all areas for electronicAmericas 2007 and FIEE
ELÉTRICA with more than 1,100 exhibitors and 50,500 trade
visitors
- Exhibitors give top grades for the trade fair and quality of visitors
- Two-figure growth in the Brazilian electronics market attracts international exhibitors to electronicAmericas 2007
More than 50,500 trade visitors and more than 1,100 exhibitors
on an overall exhibition area of 60,000 sq. m.: this is the extremely
positive result of the successful electronicAmericas 2007 and its
partner event, FIEE ELÉTRICA. The organizers of Messe
München and its trade fair partner Alcantara Machado attracted
trade visitors from the areas of electrical engineering and electronics
to Parque Anhembi in Sao Paulo, Brazil from April 23 to 27, 2007 and
confirmed the position of their leading trade fairs for the electronics
industry in South America. Ninety-three percent of the visitors came
directly from Brazil, and 77 percent of the foreign visitors arrived
from neighboring Latin American countries.
Exhibitors awarded
top grades for electronicAmericas in the official trade fair survey; 71
percent rated it as “excellent/very good.? The participating
companies were also enthusiastic about the quality of visitors; 84
percent also assessed them with “excellent/very good.? The high
degree of satisfaction of exhibitors was also due to concrete business
conducted at the trade fair. According to an initial estimate,
companies at electronicAmericas 2007 and FIEE ELÉTRICA generated
a sales volume of approximately two billion US dollars for the next six
months.
The 394 exhibitors at electronicAmericas 2007 –
and especially the 267 international exhibitors from 21 countries
– used the trade fair as platform of the regional electronics
industry to present their products and services to the growth market of
Brazil. Countries such as Germany, China and Great Britain were
represented with joint booths. The range of exhibitions included
electronic components, subsystems and parts, lasers, optic and
fiber-optic products and technologies, production technology for
component manufacturing as well as measuring and testing technology.
The
interest of companies in getting a foothold in the Brazilian market is
enormous. This is not the least due to the positive developments and
the very promising forecasts for the electronics industry in Brazil,
which are in no way inferior to the figures of the growth markets in
the Far East. Sales in the Brazilian electronics industry in 2006
increased by approximately 12 percent compared to the previous year,
and another increase of 15 percent is expected for the current year.
The top exports are cellphones with a volume of approx. 2.7 billion US
dollars and automobile electronics with about 623 million US dollars.
Imports include semiconductors valued at more than 3.3 billion US
dollars and components for telecommunication for more than 2.4 billion
US dollars.
A conference dealing with the market and
technology supplemented the business-oriented exhibition side of
electronicAmericas and FIEE. The well-attended “FORUM ABINEE TEC
2007? provided experts from the worlds of business, industry and
research as well as association and government representatives with a
lecture and discussion platform about current industry topics. The
program from April 23 to 26 included a number of forums with renowned
keynote speakers and well-informed panel discussions, for example with
the titles “Energy Matrix?, “Product Development for
Energy Generation?, “Social and Environmental Responsibility?
and “Relations Capital – Workforce?. In addition, many
forum participants used the half-day technology seminar as a compact
type of further training, among others on the topics
“Automation?, “Energy Efficiency?, “Intelligent
Distribution Networks? and “Power Quality?.
The
organizer of the conference was the industry association for the
Brazilian electronics industry, ABINEE, as it is every two years for
electronicAmericas. Messe München also received support for the
event from the German associations VDMA, ZVEI and SPECTARIS as well as
from EECA (European Electronic Component Manufacturers’
Association).
In line with the schedule every two years, the
next electronicAmericas will take place in Parque Anhembi in Sao Paulo,
Brazil in April 2009.
