The most obvious immediate benefit of using Laser Direct Imaging (LDI) for imaging is the lack of any phototool. This alone involves savings in money, savings in time, no repeatable defects, and a shorter more simple process. We must remember though that LDI involves several other benefits, too. From the ability to stamp serialisation on each panel, or PCB, to the LDI's high depth of focus, and superior ease of use and several tools to help the PCB manufacturer in their production.
