China's electronics industry is growing at a rapid pace, a fact that was clearly reflected by electronica & ProductronicaChina 2008 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from March 18 - 20. It was the seventh time that Munich International Trade Fairs held electronica & ProductronicaChina, and a total of 380 exhibitors from 19 countries participated in the fair. During the three-day event, 25,518 visitors – up 9% over 2007 – came to gather information about the latest electronics products and technologies in China. electronicAsia in Hong Kong is the leading contact and business event for the electronics industry in Southeast Asia – something that the exhibition proved again on its 11th anniversary. From October 13 – 16, 2007, 550 exhibitors from 17 countries and more than 33,000 trade visitors came to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, clearly demonstrating the event's importance as the largest trade show and buyers' exhibition for electronic components and measuring and testing technology in Asia. Interest among companies that want to gain a foothold on the Brazilian market is high – not least of all due to positive developments and extremely promising prospects for the electronics industry in Brazil. electronicAmericas, which was held at the Parque Anhembi in São Paulo from April 23 – 24, 2007, set several new records and strengthened its position as a leading exhibition for the electronics industry in South America. All in all, 394 exhibitors from 21 countries participated in electronicAmericas, which saw 2 billion US dollars in sales volume during the five-day exhibition.
